Broken Toenail
Dogs tend to loose there toenails quite frequently, and it is not too much of a big deal. But if your dog recently lost a toenail and it is bleeding you should try and wrap the foot by either placing a sock over the foot or wrapping a towel around it. And you should apply some pressure and take your dog to a veterinary clinic.
Dog Won’t Put Pressure on Foot
If your dog won’t put pressure on its foot it may be due to something in the paw itself or it could be a problem with a joint above the paw.
If your dog is not putting pressure on it, it could be due to a torn ligament, a broken bone, or a damaged footpad.

If the footpad of the dog is cut, scraped, or even burned the best thing to do is to give your dog strict rest until the pad is fully healed.
Also since this area is always being exposed to dirt it is best to keep it nice and clean. You should also see your veterinarian who might administer and antibiotics prophylactically for this condition as well. As you can see there many things that can go wrong with a hurt dog paw.
